Achladea of Ioannina is at an altitude of 550 m and is 42 km away from Ioannina. The old name was Toskesi It consists of the settlements of Upper Achladeai, Achladeai, Vadistra, Kollaiika, Lepadion.

The structure of settlements is based on the district that combines all the facilities of an extended family or "Farra". Some such neighborhoods are organized around a center that can be a church, a square or even the house of a strong family. The particular interest of the urban system is the combination of many fortifications, monasteries and towers in an integrated whole. The position of the area between of Ioannina and Souli was the main reason for the instability prevailing in the region and lifestyle.

In Achladea is the Residential complex barracks Ali Pasha (Tzimeika) 1970. North of the village on the edge of a steep cliff overlooking Lakka Souli is located a large building of the Ottoman era in Π shape, called by locals Tzimeika. The building played important role in the struggles of Souli against Ali Pasha.
