Technical Chamber of Greece - Department of Epirus

 

Established in 1950, and is a Public Entity that has elected administration, while its area of responsibility includes the prefectures of Ioannina, Arta, Thesprotia, Preveza and Lefkada. The purpose of the Technical Chamber is to promote science in the fields related to the specificity of its members. Thereby, it promotes the economic, social and cultural development of the country.

Service of Modern Monuments and Constructions of Epirus

The Service of Modern Monuments and Constructions of Epirus is a Regional Office of the Ministry of Culture as a Directorate, headquartered in Ioannina and is responsible for the Prefectures of Ioannina, Arta, Thesprotia and Preveza. The responsibilities of the service are brought within the geographical boundaries of its jurisdiction in collaboration with the relevant Directorates of the Central Office and the relevant central management. The distribution of individuals is a decision made ​​by the Minister of Culture after its proposals in the Agenda.

The Service of Modern Monuments and Constructions of Epirus is responsible for the protection of Modern Monuments, the control of studies, the issuing of approvals of executing work on monuments, the supervising rehabilitation works of others, the performing of autopsies, the recording of newer monuments and the writing of proposals to the Central Council of Modern monuments qualifying them as listed, the performed work to save monuments, the studies in projects carried out by the same or by a third party. Finally, it is responsible for handling the administrative and financial affairs.

The Greek National Tourism Organization was established by Law 1565/1950, which was ratified by Law. 1624-1651 and is a legal entity under public law, while it is supervised by the Ministry of Tourism According to n.3270 / 04 (Government Gazette 187 / A / 11.10.2004), GNTO IS divided into Central Office, based in Athens and in Regional Tourism Services from 01.01.2005. The structure of the services of GNTO and the responsibilities of each business unit are included in the P.D. 343/2001 (Government Gazette 231A). This is the state vector of the tourism sector with a mission to organize, develop and promote tourism in Greece with the full potential of the country, following tourism promotion activities within Greece and abroad, supervision and control of the overall tourism market, and any other activity that is necessary for the support and promotion of Greek touristic product.

The mission of the GNTO is to enhance the value of Greek Tourism, in collaboration with the touristic industry and all stakeholders to increase the incoming tourism and also the tourism receipts. The GNTO operates in the light of the development of tourism, the most important pillar of economic and social development of the country, being fully aware that its product is diffused through all social groups in the country and directly affects the quality of life of Greek citizens, responding successfully to a highly competitive international environment.

Hotel Association of Ioannina

The Hotel Association of Ioannina was first established in 1972 under the name "The XENIOS ZEUS" and the leaders of: Soureli S., S. Stergiades, K. Lytsika others. The effort, however, was inefficient and time after the restoration of the Union was in 1994 with founders and the new name "Ioannina Hotels Association."

The main objectives of the Association of Hoteliers Ioannina:

The General Pan-Hellenic Federation of Tourist Enterprises (GEPOET)

The General Pan-Hellenic Federation of Tourist Enterprises (GEPOET) is the body which collectively represents Travel Enterprises in Greece. School of Philosophy – Department of History and Archaeology

 The School of Philosophy in University of Ioannina was found in 1964 as a branch of Aristotle’s University, School of Philosophy in Thessaloniki (B.D.735/1964, ΦΕΚ Α' 240). The Department became independent in 1970 (N.D. 746/1970, A267), as University of Ioannina, an independent higher education institution with two Faculties: Philosophy and Physics-Mathematics.

 Since 1984 the school of Philosophy was split into three sections:

1. Department of Philology,

2. Department of History and Archaeology,

3. Department of Philosophy, Education and Psychology, which grant degrees respectively. The School operates from 1982 in accordance with Law 1268/82.

The Department of History and Archaeology is divided into four sections:

  • -Ancient and Medieval History
  • -Archaeology and Art History
  • -Modern History
  • -Folklore

The Department of Fine Arts and Sciences of Art

The Department of Fine Arts and Sciences of Art was founded in 2000 and as of the academic year 2006-007, there are two directions of study, the direction of Fine Arts and the direction of History and Theory of Art under the Ministerial Decision number.67344/B1/22-7-2009 (Government Gazette 1476 vol. B). Students have the opportunity to choose one of two directions, which is also indicated in the degree of the Department of Fine Arts and Sciences of Art. The students, after obtaining the necessary general knowledge (core courses), follow one of the two directions of the Department and are required to build on these their curriculum choosing the subjects that form the corresponding direction in order to be offered the expertise in the subject of their choice. The goal of the Department of Fine Arts and Sciences of Art is to cultivate and promote the fine arts both theoretically and practically, to provide students with the necessary background and skills to ensure their excellent artistic and professional career, upgrading the artistic and aesthetic education, to stimulate them in History and Theory of Art and to contribute to the communal, cultural and economic development of the area.
